Check out CHRISTMAS AT THE BURGESSES to your right!!
Thanksgiving was great this year as it is every year. We met up with all of my family (at least that was the original plan) in Pigeon Forge, TN. My parents have a time share there and we had two cottages. Unfortunately my sister's husband got sick on the way so they had to stop and get a hotel. When we called the next morning to see if they were on their way, we discovered Deborah had gotten sick and they were going to have to go back to Birmingham. They were so disappointed and we were sad not to see them and Catelyn. However, my brother and his wife and little girl were able to make it from North Carolina, so my parents had two grand kids to spoil. It was so fun to see Clayton and his cousin Amelia together. They are only two and a half weeks apart and they are now exactly the same size. If you didn't know they were cousins, you'd think they were twins. Anyway, we fixed a delicious Thanksgiving meal on Thursday and then on Friday we went to Knoxville to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday with all of his family. It was great to see my aunts, uncles and cousins that I haven't see in so long. It was a really great trip. We are now looking forward to all the Christmas get togethers coming up. We are going to Graham's parents house next weekend to have dinner and take a limo ride to look at Christmas lights. The next weekend we are headed to Graham's grandmother's house for a big Christmas party. It is always fun to see the family and Grandma Maxine. This Christmas will be a little different because we are moving to a new house here in Huntsville. If all goes as planned, we close on December 21st! So, we are going to wait to put up the Christmas tree until we move in. I did go ahead and put up the stockings and some garland on the fire place at our current house. It is so fun to see Clayton's stocking hanging next to ours. We look forward to teaching him why we celebrate Christmas. It is the day of Jesus' birth. To think that he was born so that he could die for our sins is so awesome. We are grateful to him and excited to celebrate his birth this year!!
